What to do and what to take in case of evacuation
In the case of emergency you can be called to evacuation. Therefore, prepare evacuation luggage in case of leave a flat.
As evacuation baggage you can use a light travel luggage, for example backpack, travelling bag or suitcase.
Mark your baggage with your name and address!!!
EVACUATION IS PLANNED, ENSURED AND PERFORMED:
- in the surrounding of the nuclear-energic equipment,
- from the area dangered by the contamination because of the disaster or another emergency related to the leakage of the dangerous substance,
- from the area affected by consequences of the natural disaster that do not make possible a temporary or a long-term person or animal stay at this area,
- from the area endangered by the water economy work accident,
- from the further area assigned to operating activity of Army of the Slovak Republic during state of war and war.
necessary measures TO leavE A flat or FAMILY HOUSE BEFORE evacuation
- turn off a heating,
- put out open fire in the heating appliance,
- close the main supply of water, gas,
- do not switch off electricity,
- turn off electrical appliances (except refrigerators, freezers),
- disconnect antenna leads,
- prepare the evacuation luggage, lock the housedoor and give notice on the door that you left the flat and come to the place designated for evacuation immediately,
- make sure, that your neighbours know about emergency and evacuation,
- help unattended children, elderly or paralyzed people,
- if possible, follow news on the radio, television, public address system and so on, through these you can get information about possible threats,
- notify inhabitants who refuse to evacuate,
- leave area shortest way from the threats, if possible, across the wind direction,
- follow instructions of persons and relevant authorities that ensure evacuation,
- move to a reception area,
- at the reception area you learn about your evacuation center (accommodation, meals and so on).
Transfers are carried out on foot. For mothers with children under three years, senior and immobile, within 4 hours after the announcement of the evacuation, evacuation means are provided to remove their into the evacuation center - station exit.
WHAT TO DO WHEN THE EVACUATION IS ORDERED
- follow the principles of leaving an apartment,
- take an evacuation baggage,
- come to the predermined place (further information about reception area you can get via the regional radio station broadcasting),
- if you be allowed to use own vehicle, you will take as many people as possible. Do not forget to follow transport information on the radio, follow the transport instructions of police and local adjustment by road signs,
– if you do not allowed to use own vehicle, transport will be carried out by means of public transport, about that you will inform through the local radio (mode of transport and a place where you have to concentrate).
In case of an evacuation it is necessary to follow instructions of persons and the relevant authorities who manage evacuation!!!
The inhabitants are on time informed about end of threat and they are allowed to return into their homes.
HIDEOUT AND EVACUATION BAGGAGE
Recommended weight:
- hideout baggage: 10 - 15 kg
- evacuation baggage:
• children: max. 25 kg per person
• adults: max. 50 kg per person
The recommended evacuation baggage:
- basic durable food (preferably canned), well-wrapped bread and mainly drinking water for 2 to 3 days,
- items for everyday needs (bowl and cutlery, sanitary supplies and toilet paper),
- identification papers, money, important documents (insurance contracts), a exiguity valuables,
- personal medicines, vitamins and necessary medical supplies,
- spare clothes, shoes, waterproof coat,
- cover or sleeping bag,
- flash-light, a candle and matches,
- For the child, remember to pack a toy,
- Other personal belongings as necessary (mobile phone, portable radio with reserve batteries, etc.).
IN HIDINGS
- behave responsibly and follow the hideout order,
- follow the hiding operator instructions,
- save water and food,
- maintain the cleanliness and order,
- stay in a designated area, do not move in the hidden, if it is not needed and speak quietly,
- behave calmly, help each other (mainly senior and sick people, women with children),
- do not smoke, do not use open fire and electrical appliances,
- wash thoroughly your hands, face and primarily exposed parts of the body, turn off ventilation and air conditioning equipment, close and seal windows, doors and ventilating apertures in hiding,
– protect your airways (scarf, handkerchief, bandage, cotton, terry towel soaked in water, an aqueous solution of soda or citric acid, etc.), eyes (closed-type goggles, for example welding, diving, ski, etc.) and body surface (boots,galosh, rubber gloves, caps, scarves, etc.) improvised means of protection.
