EU IMPACT
The project is aimed at the critical infrastructure protection under the name “Integrated Management for the Protection of the Activities of Critical Infrastructure Technology of Hungary”.
The IMPACT project will introduce innovative methodologies in the management of critical infrastructures protection systems.
The project aims to integrate the critical infrastructure management of wet areas through a global and EU approach devoted to a sustainable development for a balanced use of the critical infrastructure management for water and ICT.
It will give the possibility to design integrated development plans in the disaster management matters in critical infrastructure protection system.
Experiences of last years have demonstrated that emergency and critical infrastructure protection management cannot be only a topic at national level. Natural disasters, that interested Europe recently, have put the attention on the necessity to have a transnational and integrated approach in this common interest field. The IMPACT aims to reduce the fragmentarily of the national systems in the management of risks guarantying through new entering EU nations.
The project will create transnational synergies that will produce direct and indirect advantages for all the Carpat Euro region area. The project focuses on priorities promoted principles of critical infrastructure protection.
The main aim is to individuate and develop a shared and transnational framework to support integrated emergency management systems.
The IMPACT will be mainly devoted:
- To create a Carpat EU region network of critical infrastructures protection experts,
- Managing an open source database of knowledge and information and organising its continuous feed-back,
- To create among partners common methodology of risk / disaster managing,
- To write down and share guidelines on critical infrastructure protection for public administrations involved,
- To publish manuals on best practices related to critical infrastructure protection tools in order to activate local resources etc.
The project promotes a harmonious, balanced and sustainable development among old and new EU member States. The IMPACT project will give tools to monitor the prevention of risks and to react, giving a prompt response, in case of natural or man made disasters event of critical infrastructure system.
The IMPACT project is expected to generate impact also in terms of employment and social cohesion. The promotion of integrated critical infrastructure systems generates effects on economic development and increase of employment, mainly in the Regions involved in the project. From this point of view it will ensure the improving of the security conditions of citizenship and their safety in case of calamities.
15/11/2008. "Agreement, that we sign today, is important result of the expert team work and beginning of the creating the safety system, that can be used to save the life of the inhabitants of this area in Hungary or in Slovakia", Mr. František Knapík, Major of Košice, told before signing of agreement for collaboration in civil protection and emergency management activities.
On 16 November 2008 mayor of Košice signed agreement for collaboration with National Directorate General for Disaster management (Hungary) and with Major of City of Miskolc in connection with the execution of a project EU – IMPACT.
